Assault prompts school lockdown

CONROE, Texas – A high school was placed on lockdown on Wednesday because of an off-campus incident.

Conroe Independent School District officials said the lockdown was issued at The Woodlands College Park High School, 3701 College Park Drive, after there was an assault at Lone Star College's Montgomery Campus, 3200 College Park Drive, about noon.

Lone Star College said the incident happened in parking lot No. 1 on Maverick Way Drive. Officials said it was a domestic case and did not involve any weapons.

Conroe ISD officials said the suspect fled on foot, so the lockdown was issued for precautionary purposes. The lockdown was lifted about 1:15 p.m., but the school remained in a security alert for the remainder of the day.

Lone Star College was not locked down.
