Poor Nickelback: Always the brunt of the joke.
But the Canadian rockers proved this week on Twitter that they’re not scared to stand up for themselves, especially when the instigator is none other than Arnold Schwarzenegger, the former governor of California -- and more recently, the host of “The New Celebrity Apprentice.”
Schwarzenegger was trying to make a point on gerrymandering when he brought up “herpes and Nickelback” as being two reference points for unpopularity.
When Congress is less popular than herpes & Nickelback, how do 97% of them get re-elected? Gerrymandering. WATCH: https://t.co/SoX0tdlTeM

But that’s when Nickelback stood up for itself and said NAH, clapping back with this sassy tweet.
.@Schwarzenegger big fans. Approval rate this: Batman & Robin. Please leave us out of your future wisdom drops. Danke Shön Herr Governator.

It’s a reference to Schwarzenegger’s role as Mr. Freeze in “Batman and Robin,” which didn’t do so well at the box office. Luckily, it seemed like the governator took the joke pretty well, replying in part, “that’s … ice cold.”
That's... ice cold. I hope we can agree that we need a freeze on gerrymandering, guys. Thanks for the reply.

Maybe Nickelback is sick of being a punching bag. Who could blame ‘em?
Good stuff, internet. Good stuff.
