Argument leads to fatal shooting at a southwest Houston grocery store

Man shot and killed, suspect on the run

HOUSTON – Police said an argument outside a food mart turned deadly in southwest Houston.

Around 9 p.m. Sunday, Houston police said two men were arguing outside Mi Gente food mart in the 10400 block of West Bellfort near the Southwest Freeway.

Police said at some point, a third person gave a gun to the suspect, who then shot the suspect multiple times before running away.

The 33-year-old victim was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital where he later died.

Detectives spent hours combing through the parking lot, looking for evidence that could lead them to the shooter.

Police have only described the suspect as being Hispanic.
