Argument ends with mother, teenage daughter shot

Shots fired outside mobile home in east Harris County

HOUSTON – A mother and her 17-year-old daughter were shot outside an east Harris County home following an argument.

Investigators said it happened outside a mobile home on Dell Dale Street and South Brentwood Street shortly after 1:30 a.m.

Deputies said three females were involved in a heated argument when one of them pulled out a gun and started shooting.

The 40-year-old mother and her 17-year-old daughter were both shot. The girl was shot twice in the back. The mother was shot once in the jaw. Officials did not release the names of the victims. The victims were transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital. The daughter has since been released.

Neighbor T.S. Lambert said he knows the victims. He said they were not aggressive or troublemakers.

"No need for it, no cause for it," Lambert said. "They're all good people. They keep to themselves."

Deputies said the 19-year-old shooter fled the scene before they arrived. However, the victims told police they know her identity.

Investigators said they believe drugs may have been a cause.
