Apartment residents on alert after recent car break-ins

Some residents say this isn't first time break-ins have happened

HOUSTON – As the sun sets in southwest Houston, residents at Braeswood apartments are keeping a closer eye on their belongings.

Sometime early Saturday morning, some residents believe someone broke into their cars.

Cody Christian was heading out to go see his family when he found his window shattered.

"They broke into about 20 different vehicles and broke into mine again," said Christian. "This time, they stole my radio, broke into my tool box, stole all my tools."

Christian said it's not the first time this has happened.

"About a month ago, they broke into my truck, broke the back window out and stole a rifle out," said Christian.

Jennifer Martin said she is also a victim. Although nothing was stolen out of her car, she says the damage will be expensive to fix.

"Instead of breaking through my window, they decided to cut through my Mustang's top," said Martin. "If somebody was that desperate, hopefully they got what they needed and they won't do it again, or maybe they'll get caught."

If you have any information that could help police make an arrest, you are asked to call Crime Stoppers.
