HOUSTON -

An early morning apartment fire in southwest Houston destroyed eight units and left some residents without a home.

When firefighters arrived at an apartment complex on Corporate and Sharpcrest around 2:30 am on Saturday, they found heavy flames coming from two units.

In total, eight units were damaged before the firefighters could contain the blaze.

Four of the units suffered burn damage, and the other four had water and smoke damage.

According to reports, all of the residents had evacuated the building by the time the firefighters arrived.  There were no reported injures.

However, apartment staff worked to relocate the residents whose homes were damaged by the fire.

The cause of the fire was not immediately known.
