HOUSTON -

A Wisconsin anti-abortion group is joining in a boycott of Girl Scout cookie sales.

Pro-Life Wisconsin sent an email Monday to 3,000 supporters asking them to think twice before buying cookies when sales start Saturday.

Anti-abortion groups nationwide are encouraging a cookie boycott after taking issue with a Girl Scouts' tweet that linked to an article recognizing Democratic Texas State Sen. Wendy Davis.

Davis shot to political stardom last year with a filibuster of abortion limits and is now running for governor of Texas.

Local 2 reached out to a local troop member to hear her thoughts on the boycott.

"I'm actually very saddened that any interest group would use Girl Scouts, especially little girls like my daughter to further their agenda," said
Girl Scout troop leader Marisol Solis.

A spokesperson for the Girl Scouts of San Jacinto Council says the re-tweet was not an endorsement, rather, it was intended to highlight the Huffington Post's acknowledgment of women who made a mark in 2013.
