Amber Alert issued for missing Humble 2-month-old

HUMBLE, Texas – An Amber Alert remained in effect Monday for a missing 2-month-old girl, but police said they know the baby and her mother are safe.

The Amber Alert was issued Sunday night for Rayden Dominguez, who weighs 11 pounds and has dark brown hair and a strawberry birthmark on her upper lip. She is believed to be with her biological mother, Silvia Menchaca.

Humble police said the two were last seen at a relative's home in Humble on Saturday at 7 p.m., police said. The relative said she doesn't know how they left or where they went, officials said.

Police said other relatives have heard from Menchaca. Investigators said they are less fearful for Rayden's safety.

"We haven't found the child until we found the child," Detective Eric Squire said. "Until we actually lay eyes on child, have another agency lay eyes on the child, we still have to investigate fully."

Menchaca and the baby may be headed for Mexico, if they aren't there already, police said. Investigators believe the two are traveling with Menchaca's parents. Humble police said they have contacted police in Mexico to have them check on the family.

Detectives said Menchaca and her husband had some sort of discord and that may have caused her to leave with the baby.

Menchaca is described as 5 feet 6 inches tall, about 120 pounds with dark brown hair. She has a Marine emblem tattoo on her lower back with "Dillon" printed underneath it.
