HOUSTON -

An altercation between students had Sam Houston MSTC High School put the school on lockdown for most of the day Friday, according to officials from the Houston Independent School District.

HISD said the incident happened at approximately noon Friday. According to officials, administrators at the school and the HISD Police Department intervened.

No students or staff were injured, according to the report.

The school remained on lockdown Friday while HISD police continued to investigate the incident.  Additional patrols will also be on campus for the remainder of the day, the HISD said.

Schools in the Dayton area were also locked down Friday after police requested the lockdown when two men escaped on foot after a car chase.
