HOUSTON – An antique store in West Houston is asking the public’s help to find a man it says stole gold coins and rings worth around $4,000 from under their nose.
“He did what he did pretty quickly and he wasn't nervous about it,” explained Jeff Huntoon-Ray who works at the store. "I don't think this was his first rodeo."
Surveillance video shows a man walk into the Antiques & More store at 1801 S. Dairy Ashford Rd. and ask employees about different merchandise.
Video captures the suspected thief, wearing Texans gear, jimmy a lock and take out what the store says was a Mexican peso that had nearly two ounces of gold.
"It feels bad, it feels really bad, I've been angry all day and upset about it," said Huntoon-Ray. "It's really difficult to think that we were there engaged with this guy and helping him to find things that we thought that he wanted and meanwhile he was just moving around behind our backs and stealing things."

The store said the man was also able to get away with a 1930 silver dollar coin and also a tray full of rings.
"Unfortunately the owner failed to put the lock back on. She was showing somebody something and left it unlocked, so I guess he saw that as an opportunity," said Huntoon-Ray.
Antiques & More is two doors down from a Harris County Constables Patrol Office.
