Man arrested twice for Heights package thefts

Man arrested twice in 8-day span

HOUSTON – A man was arrested twice in eight days after accusations that he stole packages from two doorsteps in The Heights.

The first theft happened in the 1500 block of Vermont Street on May 23.

The second theft happened in the 1500 block of West 25th Street on June 28.

Houston police first received video of the West 25th Street theft. They identified David Nelson Brown, 44, as their suspect. He was arrested on July 7 on a felony theft charge. HPD said Brown was arrested without incident and bonded out of jail.

Police were then given surveillance video of the Vermont Street theft. They identified Brown as the suspect in that case as well. Brown was arrested again on July 15 on an additional felony theft charge.
