HOUSTON - A woman died and a man was injured after they became stuck in the middle of a three-car pileup on North loop East Highway.
Police said a man and a woman were driving in Dodge Ram truck headed east on the North loop at 8 a.m. Tuesday when traffic slowed down and the man slammed on his brakes.
According to police, a Ford pickup rear-ended the Dodge because of the abrupt traffic stop.
The impact of the crash pushed the Dodge into a Nissan Frontier in front of it, police said.
The 64-year-old man driving the Dodge and the female passenger, 62, were taken to the hospital, where the woman died, according to officials.
No one else was injured in the crash and no charges have been filed.
