A youth minister has been accused of having sex with a teenage church member.

Chad Foster, 32, has been charged with three counts of sexual assault of a child. He worked for Community of Faith Church.

Harris County sheriff's deputies said a 16-year-old girl told them she had sex with Foster at his Cypress home six times in July and August.

Detectives said the girl told them Foster told her not to tell anyone because it would get him in legal trouble.

The girl came forward after their relationship ended in October, investigators said.

Church leaders said they are trying to decide how to tell the congregation what happened.

"I'm sure it will be devastating to a lot of families," Associate Pastor Donald Butler said. "There's a trust factor there, and we're reeling from that honestly."

Foster was arrested Thursday. Detectives said he confessed. He was released from jail after posting $30,000 bond.
