A Northwest Harris County woman said she discovered a stranger recording her through her bedroom window while she was showering.
The victim said she is too afraid to reveal her identity, but she said the comfort she felt at her home in the 13700 block of Pickford Knolls Drive is now shattered. The woman said she and her husband first noticed signs of an intruder two months earlier. The water spout on the back of their house was suddenly bent, as if someone used it as a step to peer into their bedroom window.
"Ever since then, I was a little bit more alert," she said.
However, it wasn't until she was recently getting dressed that she found out just what the stranger was doing.
The victim said she was stepping out of the shower when she glanced up to the window.
"I see the phone and I see two fingers," she said.
The victim said a man was using his cellphone to record her through the window.
"I'm going to the restroom. I'm brushing my teeth. I'm fixing my hair," she said. "All of that just scares me. It's my home. It's my privacy. He could see everything."
The victim believes the stranger may have been secretly filming her for months. She also believes the stranger knew her family's routine and would wait until her husband left for work.
The victim said her reaction to the shocking intrusion of privacy was to grab her own cellphone, run to the closet and dial 911.
She said she didn't get a clear look at the intruder. Harris County Sheriff's deputies responded. But with the stranger still on the run, many residents are worried.
"I can't imagine how many houses he's doing this to," said Nicole Mooney.
"He's got nerve for him to do that," said Warren Douglas.
The victim said she'll never be the same, knowing the man could still do her more harm.
"How long has he been recording me?" she said. "What is he going to do? Is he going to post me on the internet?"
