A woman saved her brother from a two-alarm fire that ripped through three homes and a business in northeast Houston on Tuesday.
Houston firefighters said the fire broke out on Hardy near Harrington about 11:45 a.m.
Firefighters said they found heavy smoke coming from a garage, and the flames were spread to two neighboring homes.
A man was taking a shower inside one of the homes and his sister risked her life to save his.
"His sister was yelling at him, 'Come out, come out!' He didn't want to come out. 'The house is on fire!' He finally came out," neighbor Jazmin Maldonado said.
About 70 firefighters battled the blaze.
One home was destroyed and two others were damaged. A pickup truck was destroyed and another vehicle was damaged.
No injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
