HOUSTON -

Precinct 4 deputy constables are searching for a pair of thieves who robbed a woman in the driveway of her grandparents' home Saturday afternoon on Shady Bayou near Fairbrook.

Family members said the woman was in the driveway of the home when two men pulled up in a car and demanded she hand over her wallet at gunpoint. Family members said the woman kept her head down and did not get a good look at the robbers. The woman was not hurt and both men got away.

"That's kind of crazy because it's like a quiet area and nothing really happens over here," said neighbor Augustine Barrios. "Thought it was pretty crazy when I heard what really did happen."

The robbery happened approximately 12 hours apart and two miles away from the scene of a brutal home invasion on Foxbrook. The home invasion seemed to be planned, masked men wearing police uniforms terrorized one family. At least two men were arrested after a short chase, at least two more got away.

Now deputies are searching for the suspects, warning those who live in these neighborhoods.

At this point detectives don't believe the crimes are connected, and are not sure how any of the victims were targeted. However, police said since it is the holiday people need to take extra precautions when leaving stores or ATMs, and to pay attention to whether anyone may be following them.

Anyone with information about either of these crimes should call Crimestoppers at (713) 222-TIPS.
