Woman in hospital after home invasion
Police are looking for two suspects who beat a Kingwood woman after forcing their way into her home.
Authorities said the victim was being treated at a local hospital.
The crime happened on Wednesday at around 10 a.m. in an apartment complex located at 2139 Lake Hills Drive.
The victim's husband asked that his identity not be disclosed until the robbers are caught.
The husband, who was not home at the time, said two men knocked on the door and forced their way inside when his wife answered.
"One of them attacked her and forced her into the bedroom and got on top of her," he said. "He started striking her across the head."
The woman was able to fight back, get away and hide in a closet. She called her husband who was at work. He said all he could do was call police.
"The feeling of helplessness was overwhelming," he said. "I was a wreck all the way home, trying to get here as fast as I could."
The robbers stole the couple's TV, guns and the victim's purse. They also ransacked the apartment.
"I don't know if it was random or if she was targeted. I don't know," said the victim's husband. "I hope something like this doesn't happen to anyone else."
Police described the suspects as black males in their mid-20s.
Authorities said they they were dressed in black clothing and black hoodies.
The Houston police are investigating.
