A woman's body was found inside a northwest Harris County apartment.

Harris County sheriff's deputies said the body was discovered inside a unit at the Carrington Place Apartments in the 12700 block of F.M. 1960 near North Eldridge Parkway about 3:20 p.m.

Deputies said the victim's daughter asked maintenance workers at the complex to check on her mother because she had not been heard from in several days. A maintenance man found the woman's body and called deputies.

"There's been a history in the past of some family violence, so we're taking precautionary measures and coming out to check it to make sure there's no foul play," Sgt. Robert Sprugern said.

The victim's name has not been released. Detectives said she was in her 40s.

Detectives have not said how the woman died. Investigators said there were not any obvious signs of a struggle.
