Woman accused of putting gun in student's backpack

A Montgomery County woman has been accused of planting an unloaded gun in the backpack of a Magnolia Junior High School student, according to investigators.

Heather Hodges, 26, has been charged with unlawful carrying of a weapon and unlawful transfering of a weapon to a minor in a school zone. Both charges are felonies.

The gun was found on the student on November 5.

According to the school district, they received information a student was in possession of a gun, located the student and recovered the unloaded firearm.

Investigators have not said why Hodges placed the gun in the student's bag.
