Winston Dutchin joined KPRC Local 2 as executive sports producer, reporter and anchor in December 2006.
He is originally from West Allis, Wisc., a suburb of Milwaukee and home of the Olympic Speedskating Training Center.
When asked about his ice-skating prowess, Winston responded, "Me? Skate? Think 'Bambi' on ice."
Winston graduated close to his hometown and received a bachelor's degree in Journalism from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.
He is no stranger to sports reporting, having spent eight years as a sports reporter at KMIR in Palm Springs, Calif.
The fast-pace world of sports is not too fast for Winston.
"In other jobs, time goes too slow. In our line of work, the clock is our enemy," said Winston. "There's an adrenaline rush of meeting that deadline each and every day."
One of the defining moments in his career was the day he interviewed the late President Gerald Ford.
"There's nothing like beginning a line of questioning with, 'Mr. President,'" Winston said.
Winston's huge love for sports has found its way into every part of his life, even his engagement to his wife, Sarah. When he decided to propose to her, he orchestrated a surprise so large that it involved "Blitz", the Seattle Seahawks mascot.
Winston and Sarah have a pet betta fish that they took home from a wedding they attended a few years ago.
At 6 feet 5 inches, many people automatically assume he loves to play basketball. He said that although basketball is great, baseball is his sport of choice.
"Call me any time of day and I'll drop whatever I'm doing to play," said Winston.
