Whole Foods looks for local growers, food artisans
A Whole Foods Market that will soon open in Katy is looking for local food artisans and growers to help stock the store.
The store is looking for companies that produce their products in Austin, Brazoria, Brazos, Chambers, Fort Bend, Galveston, Grimes, Harris, Jefferson, Liberty, Montgomery, San Jacinto, Walker, Waller or Washington counties.
To apply to attend a review session, fill out an application on the store's website before midnight on Dec. 30. Applicants will be contacted by the end of the day on Dec. 31. Submission of an application does not guarantee a review session. Review sessions will be held at the store on Jan. 3.
Whole Foods has quality standards that must be met before applying to become a vendor. The company does not allow artificial colors, flavors or preservatives, hydrogenated oils, bleached or bromated flour, irradiated spices or high-fructose corn syrup.
The store, located at 6601 South Fry Road, will open on Jan. 30.
