Warm, dry weather expected into next week
High pressure keeps rain at bay
A ridge of high pressure over the Gulf Coast states will stay in place through the weekend and into early next week, blocking a rain-producing cold front from pushing into the Houston area on Sunday.
The overall effect will be a dry stretch for southeast Texas until Monday at the earliest.
With high pressure in charge, expect temperatures to continue to be slightly above normal, in the mid 80s, for the week ahead. With a persistent south wind, look for humidity levels to creep up steadily over the next several days.
Longer-range forecasts do show this high pressure system breaking down by mid-week next week, which could bring us our next decent chance for rain. Until then, keep your sprinklers in good working order. Also, don't be afraid to wash your car for fear of rain spots dotting the finish!
