Surveillance video showed the moments when a 78-year-old man is approached, beaten then robbed in north Houston.

Houston police said it happened December 5 about 5 a.m. at the Shell gas station on Airline road and the 610 North Loop.

Police said the victim, Macrino Salazar, walked up to the station's window to pay for his gas when a man walked up behind him and put him in a choke hold.

Detectives said the man continued to beat him all the way back to his car and then stole his wallet.
