Officials with the University of Houston have released the names of the three officers it recently fired.
David Davison, Pedro Jasso and Mathew Wilson were terminated after they failed a "test of integrity" and for a violation of department policy following an investigation of some missing appliances that had fallen out of a delivery truck on campus, officials said.
Students said the news of the firings was upsetting, especially after the recent rash of armed robberies and other crimes on campus.
The officers involved haven't been charged with a crime, but UofH Chief of Police Ceaser Moore said things like this shouldn't happen.
"I am deeply disappointed by the circumstances that have come to light as a result of our investigation into this incident," said Moore.
Carl Carlucci, the Executive Vice Chancellor said reasons for the firing are clear.
"We will not tolerate a lapse of integrity or any action by our police officers that fails to reassure the university community and the public that we are here to protect and serve," said Carlucci.
Officials with UofH said the officers have the option of appealing the terminations.
