Tropical Storm Michael formed in the eastern Atlantic Tuesday, but it's no threat to land.
Tuesday at 10 a.m., the system was about 1,220 miles southwest of the Azores. It had maximum sustained winds of 40 mph and was moving north-northwest at 5 mph.
According to the National Hurricane Center, a general slow northward motion is expected during the next two days, keeping the cyclone over the eastern Atlantic waters.
