Toy car leads to fight on Black Friday
Customers at the Southwest Houston Walmart said a fight ensued over a $99 toy car, marked down from $300.
At the store on Highway 6 near the Westpark Tollway, customers lined up well before the doors opened Thursday night.
"They had 20 people lined up for eight toy cars. So I thought something was going to happen," said shopper Cameron Casey. "Just the amount of people. And the amount of hostility. And the words people were using. Like people were cussing people out before 10 [o'clock]."
Casey pulled out his camera and started taking pictures. The video shows customers fighting over the boxes of toy cars and store employees trying to calm the crowd.
Casey bought an X-Box. But his friend bought a toy car for a relative. He said he waited two and a half hours and all was calm until someone showed up just thirty minutes before the sale and upset the crowd.
KPRC Local 2 contacted Walmart Thursday afternoon and asked for a comment and sent the company a link to the video shot inside the store. However, no one has responded to Local 2's questions.
