Tips for tipping while traveling
It's a big question when people go on vacation -- "How much to tip people who help us?"
Kiplinger provided some helpful tips on tipping.
First, budget for gratuities and bring small bills.
Next, tip the right people. Certain service providers in the U.S. rely on tips for the majority of their income.
You should tip housekeeping $2 to $5 every morning for mid-range hotels and up to $10 for high-end hotels.
The bellhop gets $1 to $2 per bag and the valet gets $2 to $5 every time you pick your car.
Room service should get 15 percent to 20 percent of your pre-tax bill. But always check the bill because the gratuity may already be included.
