Experts estimate up to 60,000 bats have invaded a northwest Houston apartment complex with families inside.
The apartment complex is in the 4200 block of West 34th Street.
A bat removal expert who spoke with Local 2 said he has been working for weeks to remove the bats.
He said the bats were found living in the roof of several of the buildings in the complex.
Bats can develop several diseases, including rabies, but the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention say most do not have the disease.
Their droppings do harbor fungus that can cause respiratory problems in adults.
