A 14-year-old boy, taken by helicopter to the hospital after being hit by a pizza delivery driver, died early Wednesday.

The crash happened Gessner Drive and Lazy Oaks about 9:20 p.m. Tuesday.

Houston police said Luis Martinez was crossing the road with his grandmother and another child. They were not in a designated cross walk, said officials.

The driver stayed at the scene.

Luis was taken to Memorial Hermann Hospital, where he later died.

Luis was a student at Westchester Middle School.

Investigators said that the delivery driver will not face charges.
