A high school teacher has been accused of having an improper relationship with a student.
Liberty police said Valerie Celeste Moore, 29, was arrested shortly before midnight on Tuesday. She has been charged with improper relationship between educator and student, a second-degree felony.
Moore is a first-year American sign language teacher at Liberty High School.
Liberty Independent School District officials have not released any information about the student involved, but said other teachers had reported that an abnormal amount of male students were asked to do makeup tests in her classroom and were seen hanging around her desk.
Officials have not said if the alleged relationship was sexual.
Moore has been placed on unpaid administrative leave.
