The ninth hurricane of the 2012 season formed on Monday.
Tropical Storm Rafael was upgraded to Hurricane Rafael.
On Monday evening, it was at 24.3 north, 65.7 west, which is about 560 miles south of Bermuda. It was moving north at 10 mph and had maximum sustained winds of 75 mph.
Rafael is not expected to be a threat to the United States.
