A man has been accused of leading officers on a chase through two counties.
Shane Groskopf, 30, has been charged with felony theft and evading arrest.
Montgomery County sheriff's deputies said Groskopf stole a car from a gas station on Woodlands Parkway near Grogan's Mill about 11:15 p.m. Wednesday.
The owner of the car called 911 and deputies caught up the vehicle as it was speeding south on Interstate 45 near F.M. 1960.
A deputy tried to stop Groskopf, but he refused, officials said.
Investigators said speeds reached 100 mph. Groskopf ran several red lights on freeway feeder roads, detectives said.
Deputies said the chase ended on Brownie Campbell Road near Landeau Circle in northwest Harris County, where Groskopf crashed into a fence.
A patrol car hit the stolen vehicle at the end of the chase, officials said.
No injuries were reported.
