"The Voice" season three contestant Paulina Cerrilla was born in Houston and raised in Sugar Land. After watching every episode of the show's first two season, she decided to go out for the blind audition and was snapped up by music icon and coach Christina Aguilera.
Paulina, 16, told Local 2, "It's honestly been such a blessing to work with her, and I just want to take everything and soak it up and learn as much as I can from her."
Paulina started singing before she could really even talk.
At three years old, she entertained her parents' friends by singing opera in the living room.
Her mom, Maritza Cerrilla, recalled, "Our friends were giving her $1 just to sing for them and she was singing (Andrea) Bocelli songs. She loved opera."
Soon after, her mom got Paulina a local voice coach.
She performed at Theater Under the Stars and won the Sugar Land Superstar Competition in 2007.
At 12 years old, she decided to head out to LA.
Paulina said, "I've always just kind of knew what I wanted to do and it's awesome to be living that childhood dream that I've always had."
Her mom added, "She loves it. She knows that she was made for this, so I'm so proud of her."
