A former HISD substitute teacher has been accused of touching two students inappropriately at a school gym.
According to school officials, the incident happened at Paul Revere Middle School, 10502 Briarforest Drive. The school district said there was inappropriate touching but it wasn't sexual and the teacher was fired.
Parents of the two girls, ages 12 and 13, said they're still not satisfied with the school district's explanation.
The girls' parents left work to pick up their children after the girls claimed a substitute teacher touched them inappropriately during gym class.
The school's principal and HISD police questioned the students, the teacher, and reviewed video from security cameras in the workout area. An HISD spokesman said there is no evidence of sexual touching and that the teacher put his hands on the girls to coach them through their exercises.
The father of one of the girls doesn't believe the explanation.
"My daughter said she was touched inappropriately," the father said. "He rubbed all on her thighs and then he grabbed her by the chest area and tried to push her back."
The mother of the other student said her daughter told her the teacher put his hands on the girl's hips.
The substitute teacher was fired and escorted from the building. Officials said there are no plans to file criminal charges against him.
Both sets of parents said they will not let their children return to the school, and they want a more thorough investigation.
