Students hurt in chain-reaction wreck involving school bus
2 students released after bus crash
Several children were taken to hospitals after their bus was involved in a chain-reaction collision in southeast Houston Tuesday evening.
The wreck happened on Scott near Southlawn about 5 p.m.
Investigators said a pickup truck hit a car and pushed it into the back of the school bus. Houston Independent School District official said the bus driver stopped because the car in front of him stopped.
According to the Houston Fire Department, 14 students were on board the bus at the time of the wreck. At least four of them were taken to hospitals and the others were evaluated at the scene.
The students who were transported were taken as a precaution, said Houston ISD officials. Two of the students were released from the hospital late Tuesday.
The conditions of the other two students were not immediately released.
Some of the students on board attend Pershing Middle School.
Three other people in a car involved in the crash were also transported to hospitals.
