HOUSTON -

Security will be beefed up at a Galena Park high school after several fights broke out on campus Thursday, leading to arrests.

At least four fights broke out at North Shore High School, 353 North Castelgory, before school began and at lunchtime. They were caught on cellphone video.

Teachers tried but could not break up the fights, so Harris County Precinct 3 deputy constables got involved.

Two students were arrested -- for resisting arrest and for interfering with the duties of a police officer. Five students were issued criminal citations for fighting, officials said. Their names were not released.

No serious injuries were reported.

The motive behind the brawls was not released, but officials said the original issue occurred off-campus.

Approximately 3,150 students attend North Shore.

Deputy constables regularly patrol the school.
