A man was charged with aggravated assault of a family member after police said he pointed a shotgun at his 8-year-old stepson.
According to court documents, Carlos Rivas and the victim's mother got into an argument at an apartment in northwest Harris County on Aug. 9. Rivas locked the mother out of the apartment, and threatened to shoot all family members inside, officials said. Police said he grabbed a shotgun with a red laser, and pointed it at the 8-year-old boy's chest.
Rivas then left the apartment.
The boy was not hurt.
