3 men hold up bank near Galleria

HOUSTON -

Three men robbed a southwest Houston bank Wednesday.

FBI officials said the men held up the Prosperity Bank on San Felipe near the West Loop shortly before 10 a.m.

The men were armed with handguns, masked and wearing all black clothing, officials said.

"We had one of the men jump over the counter to commit the robbery while the other remained in the lobby and took control of the customers, the other employees in the bank and ordered them all to the ground," FBI agent Shauna Dunlap said.

Detectives said the men got away with an undisclosed amount of cash.

They got in a getaway car driven by a fourth person, investigators said. That car was found abandoned a few blocks away. It had been reported stolen, investigators said.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
