South Freeway main lanes to close nightly

Nightly total closures of SH 288/South Freeway southbound at FM 518 in the Pearland area are scheduled for this week. The closures are necessary for the roadway contractor to repair the approach and departure slabs of the SH 288 Bridge over FM 518.

SH 288/ South Freeway southbound mainlanes at FM 518 are scheduled to be totally closed nightly Monday, Dec. 10 to Friday, Dec. 14 from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

If construction on the SH 288/South Freeway southbound mainlanes wraps up early, crews will shift to the SH 288/ South Freeway northbound mainlanes at FM 518 for the remainder of the week (We will send out an advisory if this does take place).

Motorists should expect delays and may want to consider an alternate route. Police officers will be on site to assist with traffic control.
