HOUSTON -

Over the weekend, two robbers targeted two businesses in southwest Houston.

Houston police said Cafe Rustika, 3237 Southwest Freeway, and Water to Wine, 3331 Westpark, were both broken into in what they describe as smash-and-grab burglaries.

Vickie King is the owner of Water to Wine.

"Went in and found cash drawer from Rustika was in our parking lot and ours was gone," she said.

King said she was surprised burglars targeted her shop because there is security on the property

Surveillance video showed that the thieves seemed to know what they were doing.

"They pulled up, jumped out of their car, ran to the bar, in and out in 10 minutes," she said.

Cafe Rustika was targeted twice in four days, police said.

King said the experience has forced her to make big changes to her business.

"We no longer keep cash in the store and put sign on door to deter people so it won't happen again," she said.

Anyone with information about the break-ins is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS
