Sketch released in killing at apartment complex
Antonio Rojo-Benitz killed at Victoria Village Apartments
Police have released a sketch of a man wanted in connection with a fatal shooting at an apartment complex.
Pasadena police said Antonio Rojo-Benitez, 27, was shot multiple times at the Victoria Village Apartments in the 1700 block of Jenkins about 10:30 p.m. on Aug. 17.
Rojo-Benitez later died at a hospital.
Dora Ocegueda said she heard about a half-dozen shots that night.
"It was so close," she said. "So close I was thinking it was behind the wall, but no, it wasn't there. It was on the playground."
Ocegueda said she was frightened by the shooting, especially since her granddaughter likes to play outside at the complex.
"I feel scared for her going out and playing," she said. "It's kind of dangerous."
Investigators said a witness described the shooter as Hispanic, in his early 30s, 5 feet 4 inches to 5 feet 6 inches tall and 180 to 210 pounds with a stocky build. He was last seen wearing a black shirt and black pants.
Neighbors said Rojo-Benitez was married with one child and another on the way.
Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
