Second suspect arrested in attempted carjackings
A second suspect has been arrested in connection to two armed attempted carjackings in Fort Bend County.
Thursday morning, a man said two men approached him in the parking lot of the Academy store on Town Center Boulevard in
Rosenberg and they tried to rob him at gunpoint. When he fled, the suspects shot at him. No one was hit by the gunfire.
Investigators linked the suspects to another shooting and attempted carjacking.
Earlier that morning, another man said he was on his way to work when a grey pickup truck pulled up next to his car on FM 359 and U.S. 90A in Sugar Land.
He said two people inside the truck tried to carjack him.
They fired at him, striking his vehicle twice and shattering the driver's side window, he said.
A description of the suspects and their car was immediately broadcast to other police officers in the area.
Rosenberg police arrested Daniel De Santiago-Caraza, 22. He faces aggravated robbery charges.
The second suspect, a 14-year-old was also taken into custody. His name was not released.
