According to Governor Rick Perry's calendar, he's been mostly absent since abandoning his campaign for the Republican presidential nomination.
In the first 16 days since dropping out of the race, Perry has been to his office only three times. And each stay lasted no longer than three hours, The Dallas Morning News reported Sunday.
Citing Perry's own calendars, the newspaper reported Perry had barely returned to his Capitol office in Austin after spending nearly six months away campaigning for president.
Perry's aides said the schedule does not accurately portray the Governor's activity. His aides said he works not just from his office, but from wherever he is.
Perry receives a salary of nearly $133,000 per year as governor and a state pension of $7,700 per month.
