Homeowners work to recover from tornado damage

FORT BEND COUNTY, Texas -

Several homes in Fort Bend County were still damaged Tuesday after a tornado touched down two weeks ago.

Blue tarps covered roof damage on homes on Royal Street near Bissonnet.

Umair Sayyed lost the roof on his home and his garage is falling down.

With more rain expected Tuesday and Wednesday, his family is worried about increased water damage and the possibility of mold.

"We have it tarped up, we have it covered, sealed, whatever we can do. But, I mean, waiting on it for so long, mold could start growing. I think the house is just going to get more damaged," said Sayyed.

The family of six is staying down the street at a friend's house.

Sayyed told Local 2 they can't begin repairing their home until their insurance claim is processed.
