Rainy days helps improve lake levels

HOUSTON -

Rain the past few months has replenished lake levels in Livingston, Conroe and Houston.

"Obviously, when you buy a waterfront house what you're looking for is waterfront property. You can definitely see the difference now with the water being back to its normal level," homeowner David Otis said.

The summer months brought a little more than 5 inches of rain. In the past few months, more than 18 inches of rain have fallen. As a result, lake levels have risen from 1 to 7 feet from their lowest levels this summer.

"Everyone's excited about having water in the lake. All the businesses and boat ramps are up and running. We're looking forward to a great year," said Otis.
