Pregnant woman arrested after romantic rival hurt
Shareyll Hunter accused of hitting Alise Kelley with car
A pregnant woman accused of running over a pregnant romantic rival appeared before a Harris County judge late Monday night.
Shareyll Hunter heard her charges read, including felony aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. The 26-year-old mother, who is pregnant, flashed a grin to someone in the courtroom as she returned to her seat.
Alise Kelley, Hunter's romantic rival who is also pregnant, had one of her legs amputated after she was pinned by a car driven by Hunter on Thursday, investigators said.
Houston police said Hunter, 26, is five months pregnant and 26-year-old Christopher Chaney is possibly the baby's father. Kelley, 21, is four month's pregnant and Chaney is the father of her baby, police said. Chaney also has a third girlfriend who lives in Virginia, investigators said.
Chaney and Hunter live in a home in the 9600 block of Ravenworth near Wembly. Chaney's two children with Hunter also live with them, police said.
Chaney said Hunter and Kelley have been texting each other saying they want to fight.
"They just don't like each other," Chaney said. "I don't know if it's me or what. I mean, I am handsome."
Hunter first threatened Kelley with a flashlight and then used a car to pin Kelley up against a brick wall, detectives said.
Relatives said Kelley's unborn baby, a boy, wasn't hurt.
