Rescue crews pulled a worker from a 40-foot hole Thursday night.

The worker was loading a ship at the Port of Houston and somehow fell backward into the hole at 10 p.m..  He was rushed to a nearby hospital.

The worker was listed in stable condition.  His identity has not been released.

The accident is under investigation.
