A routine patrol ended up with three accused shooting suspects behind bars.
Galveston police said at around 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Officer Herbert Graves was on patrol in the 900 block of 41st street in Galveston when he spotted three people running.
Officials said the officer recognized the runners as local criminals, so he decided to investigate.
Graves followed them to the 4100 block of Avenue I, police said. Officials said two of the suspects, Endiah Pines and Akylius Spurlock, stopped, but the third suspect, Dezeray Cockrell, fled.
As Graves was questioned Pines and Spurlock, officials said another officer called in that he'd just been flagged down by two men who said they'd just been robbed, and one of them shot in the leg.
Officials said Cockrell was caught by another officer a short time later.
A K-9 officer was called to the scene and with the help of his dog, they came across the victim's wallet and a semi-automatic pistol in the back yard of a nearby home.
Investigators said all three suspects were identified by the victim and each one has been charged with two counts of aggravated robbery.
Bond has been set at $1000,000 for each charge.
