Police investigate 2-week-old's death
A family is mourning a 2-week-old boy.
Houston police said Earnest Darrett Jr. was rushed to a hospital on Thursday after he was found unresponsive. He later died.
Relatives said Earnest was sleeping in bed with an aunt and two cousins. When the woman and children woke up, Earnest's face was blue and he was not breathing.
Family members said they think he suffocated.
"At this point, no signs of foul play or trauma on the baby," said Jesus Sosa of the Houston Police Department. "It could be possible rollover … or SIDS."
An autopsy will determine the cause of his death.
In 2011, 177 babies were crushed or suffocated while sleeping with a parent, sibling or other relative.
