Police chase, woman hospitalized

A woman was admitted to a psychiatric hospital after a police chase through Houston

HOUSTON -

A driver was admitted to a psychiatric hospital after a high-speed chase Sunday morning.

Houston police said the chase began when an officer tried to stop a woman driving a Nissan at a high rate of speed on the 610 South Loop near Stella Link.

According to police, after the officer put on his flashing lights and signaled for her to pull over, the driver kept going.

Police followed her on 610, up Highway 59 and down Highway 288.

The chase reached speeds of 90 mph.

The woman stopped in front of a home on Dryden and Greenbriar, where she was taken into custody. Police took her to a psychiatric hospital.
